A piano technician should come one to four times a year to tune your piano, depending on how often and vigorously it is played. If the piano is played often, a technician should file hammers, tighten action screws, and regulate the action every few years—depending on use and wear. Regulation might need to be done every year for a heavily played piano, every ten years for one that is idle.
Servicing your piano is your continued investment in life, music, and special memories. The best way to preserve the value of your piano is to have it tuned and serviced every year or two, at the most.
